PDF QR code

A QR code cannot hold a PDF. This tool puts the link to your PDF into a code and checks that the link looks like the file itself.

Checked against the live tool on 27 October 2026 by decoding the codes it made.

The notes it shows

When the linkThe tool says
ends in .pdfHow many characters it is, and to test the link before printing.
does not end in .pdfThis does not end in .pdf, so it may be a page about the file rather than the file itself. Open it and check the PDF appears straight away.
is a Google Drive or Docs linkThat is a Google link. Our Drive generator rewrites it so it previews properly.
is over 90 charactersThat it is long and makes a dense code that has to be printed larger.

What it does not do

  • It does not upload or host your PDF. Put it on your website or a file host first, shared so anyone with the link can open it.
  • It does not open the link to check the file exists.

For Drive files, the Google Drive generator rewrites the link so it previews or downloads properly.
