What the code contains
Google review from a Place ID
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4
Google review from your own link, typed without https://
https://g.page/r/AbCdEf/review
A form
https://forms.gle/AbC123
mailto:hello@example.com?subject=Feedback&body=How%20did%20we%20do%20today%3F
What it does not do
- It cannot find your Place ID for you; use Google's Place ID Finder.
- It collects no feedback itself and shows you no results.
Which mode to choose
| Mode | Best for | Grid in our test |
|---|---|---|
| Google review | Getting more public reviews on your Google listing | 37 × 37 |
| A form | Private feedback with your own questions | 25 × 25 |
| A quick note to you, with no form to set up | 37 × 37 |
All three are static codes. They point straight to Google, your form or your inbox, with no QRotto page in between.
Common mistakes
Using the listing link instead of the review link
A link to your business on Google Maps opens the listing, and the person still has to find the review button. The Place ID mode writes the address that opens the review box directly:
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4
Pasting a form link without https://
This one is safe: the tool adds it. Typed as forms.gle/AbC123, the code contains https://forms.gle/AbC123.
Filling both Place ID and your own link
When both are filled, your own link wins and the Place ID is ignored. Clear the one you do not want, so you know which link is printed.
Questions
Where do I find my Google Place ID?
Search for your business in Google's Place ID Finder. It starts with ChIJ. Copy the whole string.
Can I see how many people scanned it?
Not from the code, because it is static. Google shows your new reviews, and form tools show their own response counts.
Is it allowed to offer a reward for reviews?
Google's review policy does not allow offering incentives for reviews. Ask everyone, not only happy customers.
